Rev. Jennifer Cobb is executive director of mission and spiritual care for Mercy, St. Louis, a Midwestern health system with physical locations in four states that provide virtual care to more than 20 states and serve over 1 million people annually.

Previously, she served as director of Mercy mission and spiritual care and interim vice president of mission at Mercy Northwest Arkansas. She also served as director of chaplaincy and pastoral care at Seton Medical Center, Harker Heights, Texas. Rev. Cobb also has experience as a hospital staff chaplain.

Integrating her business education with her clinical chaplaincy skills, for the last 12 years, Rev. Cobb has advocated for the inclusion of spiritual care in the inpatient, ambulatory and virtual care settings and focused on elevating the discipline of spiritual care so that the one-on-one bedside experience translates into health care strategy.

Rev. Cobb has presented at national conferences on topics such as spiritual care in the outpatient setting, using an EHR system to identify inpatients who need a chaplain's specialized care and the essentials of mission leadership.
She is a member of CHA's Pastoral Care Advisory Committee.

She holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix, and a masters of divinity degree from Southern Methodist University Perkins School of Theology.

Rev. Tom Harshman
Vice President, Spiritual Care
CommonSpirit Health

Rev. Tom Harshman is vice president, spiritual care, for CommonSpirit Health, San Francisco. He is a member of the mission national team, overseeing the system's pastoral and spiritual care services, and caregiver support.

Rev. Harshman has served as a spiritual care provider and educator in a variety of settings including hospitals, home care hospices, HIV service organizations, university, and substance misuse treatment centers.

He is an Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) board-certified chaplain and an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) certified educator.

Rev. Harshman received a master of divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology, Denver, and a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Redlands, California. 

Tim Serban
Chief Mission Officer
Providence Health and Services, Oregon Region

Tim Serban is chief mission officer for Providence Health and Services Oregon Region of Providence St. Joseph Health in Portland, Ore. He has served in spiritual care and mission for more than 30 years across many settings including, acute, home, hospice, palliative care, primary care medical groups, health plans and business specialty settings. In his current role, Mr. Serban supports the Oregon region's 12 leaders of mission and spiritual care, 135 chaplains and 22,000 caregivers.

He also serves as a volunteer with the American Red Cross as the national disaster spiritual care lead. He is a National Association of Catholic Chaplains board-certified chaplain, serving on the NACC board of directors.

Mr. Serban received a master of arts in theology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Penn.
