FOCUS AREAS PALLIATIVE CARE

CHA works to advance access to high-quality palliative care in the Catholic health ministry through advocacy, education and the integration of Catholic teachings and ethical principles into palliative care practice.

Compassionate care for all persons, especially the seriously ill and dying, has been a hallmark of Catholic health care. We follow the example of Jesus when we care for people in great need. Palliative care is a model of care that focuses on caring for the whole person — physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually — and that is appropriate for anyone with a serious illness.
