Advocates promote ministry priorities for national public policy
On Sept. 18 and 19 CHA convened ministry advocates in Washington, D.C, for the 2014 Catholic Legislative Advocacy Conference. Over 70 representatives from Catholic hospitals and systems nationwide gathered to hear updates on key legislative issues from health policy experts and to make over 100 visits to members of Congress and their staffs on Capitol Hill.

Ascension Health may transfer Mount St. Mary's to Catholic Health
If an affiliation agreement signed in mid-August is completed, St. Louis-based Ascension Health will transfer parenthood of Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center in Lewiston, N.Y., to Catholic Health System of Buffalo, N.Y.

Mercy doctor advances potential for mining performance data on implanted devices
Millions of people worldwide live with an implanted medical device, whether a heart stent or an artificial hip. But currently there's no standard tracking system for implanted medical devices. If there's a problem with an implanted device, it's difficult to quickly identify and notify patients who have the devices in order to address or correct defects.
