Trinity Health System of Steubenville, Ohio, opened its St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital on Aug. 18. Trinity Health System is part of CommonSpirit Health.
The new 20,000-square-foot facility in St. Clairsville, Ohio, has 10 emergency treatment rooms, three fast-track rooms for lower-acuity patients, six inpatient rooms and two operating rooms. It also has a laboratory, advanced imaging capabilities and spaces specially designed and designated for bariatric patients and patients with behavioral health conditions.
The hospital, which cost $25 million to build, employs 65 staff.
St. Clairsville is a community of about 5,000 people, about 35 miles south of Steubenville. Trinity Health System is based in Steubenville and has two hospital campuses there as well as a critical access hospital in Dennison, Ohio, and a network of other facilities.
In a press release on the hospital opening, Laurie Labishak, market director of marketing and communications for Trinity Health System, noted that the closure of East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry earlier this year had left a void in care. Dwayne Richardson, president of Trinity Health System's Twin City Medical Center and regional operations, added that access to timely emergency services has been a challenge in St. Clairsville. The opening of the new hospital helps address these issues. Martins Ferry is about a dozen miles from St. Clairsville.
