Pope Leo XIV reminds us in Dilexi Te, #4: "Those who suffer know how great even a small gesture of affection can be, and how much relief it can bring." Beyond relief, these gestures of affection can also bring hope. Hope is both a gift we share and a grace we receive through acts of love and compassion. It strengthens and sustains us.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving in this Jubilee Year of Hope, know of my deepest gratitude for your dedication to the Catholic health ministry. Through your service to the ministry, you help transform hurt into hope for individuals, families and communities. As we continue the work to which we have been called, may we keep our eyes on the horizon, grounded in the enduring hope that never fails.
May this Thanksgiving be a time of joy, peace, and deep gratitude for the many blessings we share.
Blessings,

Amid life’s trials, our hope is inspired by the firm and reassuring certainty of God's love, poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. That hope does not disappoint (cf. Rom 5:5).
