Pandemic Resources

Fall 2009

To assist the ministry in planning for the H1N1 pandemic, CHA created an online Pandemic Information Groupsite to provide a forum to share plans, exchange information and engage in dialogue with colleagues about policies and practices for dealing with a pandemic. To join the groupsite, click http://chapandemicinfo.groupsite.com.

One of the resources on the groupsite is a helpful document, "Ethical Responsibilities of Health Care Professionals" (http://www.chausa.org/NR/rdonlyres/1575CF67-A3A0- 4B89-8E43-549E55FF246A/0/HCEUSA_Fall09_ Ethical_Responsibilities_of_HC_Professionals.pdf). It was developed with a series of brochures by the State Expert Panel on the Ethics of Disaster Preparedness in collaboration with the Wisconsin Division of Public Health, Hospital Emergency Preparedness Program and the Wisconsin Hospital Association.

In addition, we're including a link to an interactive resource to foster discussion and planning within your group or facility. The resource, "A Pandemic Is Not a Game — and Here's a Game to Prove It," (http://www.chausa.org/NR/rdonlyres/ D69EEDE3-1A80-4C71-85FE-ACEBE75D01C6/0/ HCEUSA_Fall09_Pandemic_Is_Not_a_Game.pdf) was developed by Maureen Cavanagh, RN, M.S. It initially appeared in the Sept.-Oct. 2009 issue of Health Progress.
