Postcards from Washington, D.C.

July 1, 2015

The 2015 Catholic Health Assembly is one for the history books. The three day meeting celebrating the association's centennial drew nearly 1,100 senior leaders of the Catholic health ministry to the nation's capital from June 7-9. From the triumphal hymns resounding through the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at the opening Mass, to President Barack Obama's national health care policy speech, which closed the meeting, the message of the Catholic health ministry's essential contributions to the church, to health reform, and to the care of America's poor and vulnerable resonated.
