A Dignity Health campus in Henderson, Nev., broke ground last month on a five-story, 141-bed tower that will include emergency bays, observation beds, operating suites and support services.
Dignity Health – St. Rose Dominican's Siena Campus will increase its capacity to 360 beds with the $160 million project, which is set for completion in early 2016.
In addition to the emergency and operating services, the tower will include an admitting area and nutrition, radiology, laboratory and pharmacy services.
All inpatient rooms will be private.
The tower is part of a renovation effort that also expanded the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit; that expansion opened last summer.
St. Rose Dominican's foundation is supporting the tower construction with a fund-raising effort.
The Siena Campus is one of three St. Rose Dominican campuses in Henderson: the Rose de Lima campus opened in 1947, the Siena campus in 2000, and the San Martín campus in 2006. Information from St. Rose Dominican indicates health care needs are increasing in Henderson, and the Siena Campus expansion is necessary to accommodate more patients.
