Nominations open for palliative care award

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 Circle of Life Award: Celebrating Innovation in Palliative and End-of-Life Care. The recognition, sponsored by the American Hospital Association, will honor up to three organizations that achieve excellence in end-of-life and palliative care. Additional organizations may receive citations of honor at the July 2012 American Hospital Association Health Forum Summit in San Francisco.

Information and nominating forms can be found at www.aha.org/circleoflife. Nominations are due by Aug. 8.

In addition to AHA, major sponsors of the award include CHA, the National Consensus Project for Quality Palliative Care, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the National Hospice Foundation. Cosponsoring the award program are the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the National Association of Social Workers.
