CHA has promoted two veteran staff members to senior positions.

Indu Spugnardi is now senior director of community health and eldercare at CHA. Lori Ashmore-Ruppel is now senior director of mission services management.

Spugnardi started at CHA in early 2000 as the director of advocacy and resource development. She has been part of the CHA team working on community benefit, palliative care, environmental sustainability, the We Are Called initiative, and aging issues.

In addition, Spugnardi has led the U.S. Catholic health care response to the Laudato Si' Action Platform and serves as the co-chair of the health and healing workgroup of the platform.

In her new role she will continue to support and help expand the work of the ministry on these key issues.

Ashmore-Ruppel started with CHA in 2008 as an intern in the mission department while pursuing her master’s in theology. She moved to mission program and research associate, focusing on ethics, mission, and formation. In 2014, she assumed the position of director of sponsor services, where she has made significant contributions to the Sponsor Formation Program, the Sponsorship Institute, and the MJP Collaborative.

She assisted in the research and writing of the Guide for Sponsors in Catholic Health Care and the CHA study guide for the second edition of The Pastoral Role of the Diocesan Bishop in Catholic Health Care, among many other offerings for CHA members.

In her new role, she will advance CHA's strategic initiative to enhance the efficiency and integration of its mission services programs and offerings for members.
