2014 Homily Resources for Priests

Preaching the Healing Mission

Health care is a vital concern for all Americans and an important ministry of the Catholic Church. Often, health care issues are complex and difficult to understand.

The Catholic Health Association is pleased to offer a collection of homilies for 2014 to help connect the healing mission of the Church with parishes and the communities we serve.

While each topic in the series coincides with liturgy for a selected Sunday or feast day through early 2014, reflections are appropriate for additional occasions as well. Written by prominent Catholic theologians and bioethicists, the homilies bring important issues about health and healing to life in the context of Gospel and church teachings.

Catholic health care is dedicated to continuing the healing mission of Jesus by improving the health and well being of communities and caring for people of all ages, races, religious beliefs and ethnic backgrounds in our hospitals, health facilities and clinics across the U.S. One out of every six patients in America is treated at a Catholic hospital each year.
