CHA's Protect What's Precious Toolkit Introduction Call

Jan. 25, 2023
1 – 1:45 p.m. ET (please adjust for your time zone)

The Catholic Health Association (CHA) has been working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other stakeholders to ensure that we minimize the number of people that lose Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage in anticipation of an impending redetermination process. In late 2022, Congress passed a bill that contained a provision that decoupled the Medicaid continuous eligibility requirement made under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. As part of this new law, Congress enacted a transition period that phased down the enhanced federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP) to states, ending the continuous coverage requirement on April 1, 2023. At that time, states may begin the redetermination process.

CHA's national campaign, Protect What's Precious, is an essential component of this work and we value our partnership with your health care organization. We invite you to join this call to learn more about the Protect What's Precious toolkit, which includes talking points for front-line staff, posters, flyers and CCTV resources. Together we can advance human dignity and promote the common good by amplifying key messages to prevent Medicaid and CHIP coverage loss for our most vulnerable neighbors.
