The Most Reverend John J. Kennedy, JCD, Titular Archbishop of Ossero, Secretary for the Disciplinary Section, Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, was born in Dublin, Ireland, and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Dublin in 1993. For five years, he worked in parish ministry before being sent to Rome for postgraduate studies in Canon Law at the Gregorian University. After completing the licentiate in Canon Law and a specialization in Jurisprudence, Archbishop Kennedy was asked to begin working at what was then the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (now the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith). Archbishop Kennedy completed his Doctorate in 2010 and was named Secretary for the Discipline Section in April 2022. On September 28, 2024, Kennedy was ordained Archbishop and continues in the role of Secretary.
