Almighty God and Creator, we give you thanks for your son and servant, Karol Wojtyla, Pope John Paul II. Through your grace he made his life a magnificent example of service to you and to the Church throughout the world. Tirelessly, he took the message of peace and love to the far corners of the earth. His energy and joy inspired young people and people of all ages to follow in the path of Jesus. He missed no opportunity to affirm the dignity of all persons and to promote human rights. You called him to be a great leader, shepherd and teacher. He led us as a model, not only of strength but of vulnerability and suffering. We are grateful for the life of Saint John Paul II and for his canonization. We pray in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
