Migrants, Missionaries of Hope

Jubilee for Migrants & World Day of Migrants and Refugees

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews 13:2)

As we commemorate the 111th World Day for Migrants and Refugees with the Jubilee of Migrants, Pope Leo XIV invites us to consider how we can build a community that is a living witness to the dignity of all as children of God.

“Many migrants, refugees and displaced persons are privileged witnesses of hope. Indeed, they demonstrate this daily through their resilience and trust in God, as they face adversity while seeking a future in which they glimpse that integral human development and happiness are possible […] Migrants and refugees remind the Church of her pilgrim dimension, perpetually journeying towards her final homeland, sustained by a hope that is a theological virtue.”
- Message of Pope Leo XIV for the 111th World Day of Migrants and Refugees

God of hope,

You journey with us through every land and season and know the despair of those forced to flee. Open our hearts to those who seek safety, to reclaim their dignity, and a future for their families. Make us courageous in welcome, bold in compassion, and faithful in solidarity. In your name, we pray: AMEN.
