Statement by Sr. Mary Haddad, RSM, President and Chief Executive Officer
Catholic Health Association of the United States
"CHA has always called for a health care system that welcomes and provides the same level and quality of care for everyone. We support the principle of nondiscrimination in health care and our members treat all patients with compassion and respect without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other category or status.
“We will analyze the proposal to understand its potential effect on both patients and health care providers. Whatever the content or effect of this proposal, we reiterate that every person seeking health care is welcome in a Catholic health care facility and will be treated with dignity and respect."
