A Holy Week Message from Sr. Mary Haddad, RSM, President and CEO, Catholic Health Association

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life…nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
(Romans 8:38–39)

During these holy days, we are invited to reflect on the Passion, death, and Resurrection of Jesus and to hold in tension intense suffering with immense joy. Holy Week asks us not to turn away from the pain of the world, but to carry it prayerfully, holding it before God and with one another. In community, we hold the patients and families entrusted to our care, our immigrant brothers and sisters and those affected by war and displacement. We stand in solidarity with all whose human dignity is threatened.

The Passion reminds us that Christ enters fully into human vulnerability, walking with those who grieve and who wait in uncertainty. May these holy days renew your commitment to God's call to foster healing, act with compassion, and promote wellness for all persons and communities, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable in our communities and in our world. May we celebrate every opportunity for resurrection with joy.

Thank you for your service to the healing ministry. May this Holy Week bring grace, peace and renewal to you and your family.
