Spiritual/Pastoral Care Dialogues

Care for the Transgender Soul: An Introduction to Spiritual Care for Trans Persons and their Families

June 8, 2023
1 to 2:15 p.m. ET

About this Event

While discussions about the political and clinical aspects of health care for transgender individuals are common, little attention is given to their spiritual lives, even though many have strong religious beliefs. To address this gap, CHA is hosting a webinar aimed at exploring how spiritual care can be tailored to meet the unique needs of transgender persons and their families.

The webinar will feature experts with extensive experience serving the transgender community within the Catholic health ministry. Our speakers will address the unique needs of transgender individuals and their families, offering chaplains practical strategies to provide effective pastoral and spiritual care. The session will also provide ample time for participants to engage in dialogue, ask questions and share comments. Fr. Charles Bouchard, OP, senior director of theology at CHA, will moderate the discussion.
