Program Costs for Participants and Guests


For participants, the cost of this program is $9,000.

The complete package for participants includes:

  • Seven nights at the Westin Excelsior (including American buffet breakfast, service charges and tax). Those seven nights are: April 30, and May 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6
  • Seven breakfasts, two lunches and four dinners 
  • Motor coach transportation in Rome, dicastery visits, papal audience and St. Peter's Basilica
  • Motor coach transportation to/from Assisi
  • Transport to/from airport or train station
  • All workshop materials



The cost for a registered guest rooming with a participant is $2,500. If a registered guest requires their own room, there will be an additional charge.

The package for a registered guest includes:

  • Seven breakfasts, two lunches and four dinners
  • Motor coach transportation in Rome to papal audience and St. Peter's Basilica
  • Motor coach transportation to/from Assisi
  • Transport to/from airport or train station

Please Note: Should you select to travel with a guest, and not register him or her, your guest will be on his or her own. This includes getting themselves to/from the airport and all meals. Your guest will not be registered to attend any off-site events (i.e., papal audience, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, day in Assisi).


CHA is required to pre-pay all program costs by March 25, 2022. As a result, no refunds will be offered for any program cancellations made after March 25. There is no cost to send a substitute. Please contact Adele Gianino at (314) 253-3443 to register a substitute.


Many participants choose to arrive early or depart several days after the program. CHA is happy to make reservations for additional nights of stay at the program hotel. However, once those reservations are made, should you need to make any modifications, please do so on/before March 25, 2022. Any rooms that are cancelled after March 25 will be charged to the registrant at the CHA contracted room rate. CHA will bill the registrant directly for these cancelled room nights approximately six weeks after the program concludes.

2022 Registration Process for Participants and Guests 

Registrations are now being accepted for the 2022 program. To register, please call Adele Gianino, CHA director of meetings and travel, at (314) 253-3443, or Dee Walsh, CHA meeting planner, at (314) 253-3439. Please leave a voicemail if no one is unavailable.


  • Space is limited to approximately 50 participants.
  • Those 50 persons and their guests will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis by calling Adele Gianino.
  • The deadline to register is Nov. 12, 2021, however, because of the popularity of this program, we suggest you make your plans and register as soon as possible.
  • Once the 50 spots have been filled, CHA will compile a wait-list.


  • Contact person — if more than one person attending from the organization
    • Name and contact information.
  • For the participant(s):
    • Name, with all relevant prefixes and suffixes
    • Preferred name for badge
    • Title in health care (example: trustee, CEO, etc.)
    • System or facility name and city/state/zip
    • Personal email address
  • For a guest for each participant:
    • Name, with all relevant prefixes and/or suffixes
    • Preferred name for badge
    • Personal email address
    • If the guest is rooming with a participant or requires a separate room


While not required at the time of registration, a passport number and exact name included on the passport, or a copy of the application for a passport for those who do not yet have one, will be required soon after registration. For those who do not yet have a passport or need to renew — participants or guests — please note that there is a 10 to 12 week wait for application and receipt.

Please note: Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your planned return date from the European Union.

Please note that travel requirements to Italy and other countries in the European Union is fluid. It is highly recommended that all Registered Participants and Guests be fully vaccinated for the coronavirus. Currently, Italy is requiring proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test prior to entering the country. Masks are still required for indoor settings.

We highly recommend that participants and guests stay informed by following the guidelines for Italy which can be found on the sites for the US Embassy & Consulates in Italy – and Travel.State.Gov, at Please note that if you plan additional travel to other countries in the EU before or after the CHA program, the COVID guidelines may vary.

What to Expect After Registration

December 2021

  • Invoices Mailed 
    In mid-December, CHA will mail each contact person an invoice. It will include a listing of all attendees — participants and registered guests — and the payment amounts for each individual. Payment should be received by Jan. 24, 2022 in order to confirm registration.
  • Request for Participant and Registered Guest Items
    Along with sending payment invoices, CHA will also, at this time, make a request for several items required by CHA no later than February 25, 2022.

    They include:
    • A (head and shoulders) photo (jpeg) of each participant, as well as final contact information and titles for all registrant
    • A copy of each participant and registered guest's passport — the opening page with name and passport number
    • A copy of travel itineraries for each participant and registered guest in order to coordinate transport to/from airport or train station
    • CHA will provide all materials in a print version. An electronic format will also be sent for those who prefer to use a tablet or e-reader.

January 2022

  • Registration Fees Due
    Registration fees are due on January 24. If payment is not received by this date, registration will be forfeited unless prior arrangements have been made. Contact Adele Gianino or Dee Walsh regarding payments.
February 2022
  • Participant Photos and Participant and Registered Guest Passport Information and Itineraries DUE ON FEBRUARY 25
March 2022
  • Program materials available MARCH 18
    CHA will mail hard copies and provide access to electronic program materials.
  • Webinar: Know Before You Go
    APRIL 1, 2022, 1 - 2 p.m. ET
