Earth Day Resources

Earth Day is annually commemorated on April 22. For Catholic health ministries, this is an opportunity to reignite our commitment to stewardship of the resources entrusted to us and to more deeply consider the role of environmental sustainability in our social justice efforts and as we address the health of our communites. For this event, CHA is pleased to provide resources each year, as well as highlight additional sources of inspiration and education on the topic of environmental responsibility and climate change.

Earth Day Program Planning Resources from Catholic Climate Covenant

This year's Earth Day theme is "Planet vs. Plastics." Catholic Climate Covenant's 2024 Earth Day program will help your organization learn about how plastic production, consumption, and disposal are impacting human and planetary health, and share strategies for personal, community, and systemic actions. The program can be used on April 22 or on any other day that fits your community's schedule.

Visit the Catholic Climate Covenant website to download everything you need to host/lead this Earth Day program in your organization.

Consider engaging with these resources in celebration of Earth Day – April 22, 2024 or Laudato Si' Week – May  19-26, 2024.

CHA is Pleased to be a Partner in the Laudato Si’ Action Platform

Catholic health organizations can commit to the action platform – a seven-plus year journey towards full sustainability in the holistic spirit of integral ecology.
