Paulo G. Pontemayor, MPH serves as senior director, government relations at the Catholic Health Association of the United States. Prior to joining CHA, he held roles at The Joint Commission, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum, and in the U.S. House of Representatives. Paulo serves as the elected Chair of the Partnership for Medicaid, a national coalition of 25 organizations working to protect and strengthen the Medicaid program.
Paulo holds a master of public health from the Milken Institute at George Washington University, an executive certificate in healthcare leadership from Georgetown University, undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in public Health at the Bloomberg School at Johns Hopkins University as a health equity scholar.
Originally from the U.S. territory of Guam, Paulo continues to be guided by his Mercy education and from his Filipino immigrant roots—particularly his grandfather, who helped rebuild the island after World War II.
