PRESIDENTS/CEOS

Patricia Maryland to president of healthcare operations and chief operating officer for Ascension Health in St. Louis, from Michigan Ministry Market Leader for Ascension Health and president and chief executive of St. John Providence Health System in Warren, Mich. The changes become effective July 1.

ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES

Dan Hoodin to vice president, managed care strategy and development for Hospital Sisters Health System in Springfield, Ill.

Deborah Bloomfield to chief financial officer for Catholic Health Partners in Cincinnati, effective Oct. 1. She will succeed James Gravell, who is retiring.

Deena Fischer to network vice president of marketing and communications for SSM Health Care – St. Louis.

Dr. Steven M. Stein to chief medical officer for Trinity Senior Living Communities in Livonia, Mich.

The Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's Foundation in Louisville, Ky., has made these changes: Kathey Golightly Sanders and Matthew Williams to director of major gifts.

Ministry Health Care of Milwaukee has made these changes: Jesse Bolder to director of the foundations of Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital, Tomahawk, Wis., and Ministry Saint Mary's Hospital, Rhinelander, Wis.; and Antonina Olszewski to foundation director at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston, Wis.

GRANTS

St. Peter's Health Partners in Albany, N.Y., received a $10 million anonymous donation to benefit the system's $150 million master facilities plan for its Troy, N.Y., operations.

The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Foundation in San Antonio received a $3 million gift from the USAA Foundation to improve access to pediatric care.

Hartford, Conn.-based Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center's director of research, Dr. Ernesto Canalis, serves as principal investigator on a $1.6 million grant from the National Institute of Arthritis Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases to study cell signaling.

St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, Calif., received a $425,000 grant from First 5 LA to implement a "Welcome Baby" program.

St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii in Honolulu received two grants totaling $195,000 from the Persons in Need program for Elderly Services of the Hawaii Community Foundation.

St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor in Ann Arbor, Mich., received $102,000 from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation to help fund the hospital's enhanced recovery initiative.

NAME CHANGE

Saint Mary's Health Care in Grand Rapids, Mich., will become Mercy Health Saint Mary's in June.
