Stephen Porter to chief executive of Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, S.C., from corporate vice president of the Northern Virginia region of Sentara Healthcare and president of Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center of Prince William County, Va. Porter will replace Allen Carroll, who has retired. Porter will assume his new role July 10.
J. Lindsey Bradley Jr. retires as senior vice president of group operations and chief executive of CHRISTUS Health Northeast Texas, of Tyler, Texas, effective June 30. CHRISTUS Northeast Texas includes CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana and CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System in Longview.
Thomas E. Cecconi will retire as president and chief executive of Mercy Medical Center of Canton, Ohio, effective Dec. 31. During the leadership transition, A. David Jimenez, chief performance officer at the Sisters of Charity Health System, will provide operational oversight on a part-time basis. Cecconi will continue as president and chief executive until Aug. 1, when he will become chief executive emeritus through the end of the year.
Cindy Mayo will retire in August as chief executive for Providence Health & Services' Southern Oregon region, based in Medford, Ore.
Dan Perryman has departed as president and chief executive of HSHS St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Ill. E.J. Kuiper, president and chief executive of Hospital Sisters Health System's central Illinois division, will be interim leader at St. Mary's during the executive search.
ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES
Dr. Joshua Lee to chief medical officer for Loyola University Medical Center of Maywood, Ill.
Stephen Mayfield to chief quality officer for Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, Fla., as well as for Providence Hospital in Mobile, Ala.
GRANTS
HSHS St. Elizabeth's Foundation of Belleville, Ill., has received a $2.5 million gift toward the St. Elizabeth's Hospital Capital Campaign. An anonymous donor provided the gift in honor of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis — the order has served at the hospital since 1875. The funds will go toward St. Elizabeth's hospital replacement project. The capital campaign has raised over $6 million to date.
Dr. A. John Merola has donated $3 million to St. Joseph's Health of Syracuse, N.Y., for the hospital's 150th anniversary campaign. The campaign will fund a cardiovascular center, improvements to the hospital's breast care and surgery program and renovations to college of nursing facilities at St. Joseph's. Merola has been affiliated with St. Joseph's for more than 50 years. He helped create the hospital's family medicine residency program. He is honorary chairperson for the hospital's anniversary campaign.
