CHI reorganizes executive suite

February 15, 2014

Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives has reorganized the president and chief executive role — held by Kevin Lofton for 10-plus years — into three separate positions, each focused on different strategic priorities.

Lofton will continue as CHI chief executive and will concentrate on potential partnerships and consolidations with other hospitals, health systems and organizations that can lead to better integrated health services under new models of care; church relations; governance and advocacy.

Michael Rowan, CHI executive vice president and chief operating officer, will oversee CHI's health care operations in the newly created role of president of health system delivery. He continues as chief operating officer of the system, which operates 87 hospitals and hundreds of other health care facilities in 18 states.

Dean Swindle, CHI executive vice president for business services and chief financial officer, was named to the new position of president of enterprise business lines and is in charge of identifying and nurturing new business ventures. He continues as chief financial officer. He oversees finance and accounting functions, payer strategies, revenue cycle management and supply chain.
