PRESIDENTS/CEOS

Gail Daly to interim president, St. Mary Medical Center, Long Beach, Calif., from chief operating officer. Daly replaces Chris DiCicco, who retired.

St. John Providence Health System, Warren, Mich., has made the following changes: Jean Meyer to president and executive vice president, acute care operations for the health system, from president, Providence Park Hospital, Novi, Mich., and Joe Hurshe to interim president, Providence Park Hospital, from vice president of operations, for the health system.

Dorothy L. Sawyer to senior vice president and chief executive, Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital, Tucson, Ariz., from market president and chief executive, Physician Group of Arizona, Phoenix. Sawyer replacesWinnie Fritz, who retired.

GRANTS AND GIFTS

Saint Thomas Health Regional Network Services, Nashville, Tenn., received a $200,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to develop and promote innovative educational strategies to motivate health care students to seek employment in rural communities.

Seton Health, Troy, N.Y., has received a $150,000 grant from the New York State Department of Health's Obesity Prevention Program to reduce child and adolescent obesity.

OBITUARY

Sr. Rose Vincent Gleason, OSF, former president of St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, N.Y., died Nov. 23, at age 88.
