In the Company of the Saints

On this All Saints Day, we remember those saints whose names have been recorded in our Church’s history, whose stories have been told and retold across generations. We also remember the countless holy men and women whose lives of courage, steadfast faith, and unconditional love may have been forgotten by most, yet remain forever known to God. As we pray together, let us hold in our hearts the saints of our own lives: those who held our hands, prayed beside us, taught us, and served as examples of lives well lived.

Let us pray.

Eternal God,

We honor all who have gone before us. Though we mourn their absence, we celebrate their eternal union with You.

Remind us of our foundation as Your children, and our calling to strive for holiness. Remind us of the witness of the saints, whose faithful actions continue to reveal You in the world.

Holy God, when life seems ordinary and mundane, remind us that holiness is waiting to be discovered and that sainthood is not reserved for a few, but offered to all who seek You.

As the communion of saints surrounds us, may their lives awaken something holy within our own, encouraging us on our journey of faith.

All you holy men and women, pray for us. Amen.
