Compassionate colleagues

To show their support for a colleague who lost her hair during chemotherapy, four staff of Mercy Clinic General Surgery in Rogers, Ark., shaved their heads in April. It was in honor of coworker Pamela Burton, who is a patient account representative.

One of the women, Kathy Beckwith, said, "We are a family, a team and friends. We can't make the diagnosis go away for Pamela, but this is something we could do, and we did."

Here, clockwise from top center, are Beckwith; Burton, who underwent the cancer treatment; and colleagues Laura Brown, Pam Cox and Carmen Smith.
