Nick Desien, senior vice president of Ascension Health/Wisconsin Ministry, will retire effective Dec. 31.

 

GIFTS AND GRANTS

CHI Health Mercy Corning in Corning, Iowa, has been awarded a $400,000 grant from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust's Rural Healthcare Program for a new 64-slice CT scanner.

CHI Health has been awarded a $194,000 grant from the Mission and Ministry fund of Catholic Health Initiatives to develop a network of community and clinical initiatives in Nebraska and Iowa to help people who have, or are at risk of having, mental illness and substance abuse issues.

Lutheran Medical Center of Wheat Ridge, Colo., has received a $100,000 grant from the Daniels Fund to help West Pines Behavioral Health provide substance abuse treatment and recovery programs to underinsured patients. Lutheran Medical Center is a member of SCL Health, based in Denver.
