Changes to Medicaid Are Coming
Resources to Raise Awareness and Help Patients Stay Covered
Due to changes in the law under H.R. 1, an estimated 5 to 10 million Americans, particularly adults between the ages of 18 and 64 in Affordable Care Act (ACA) expansion states, may be at risk of losing their Medicaid coverage because of work requirements and eligibility checks. To support outreach efforts, CHA has created a complimentary Protect What's Precious Toolkit, featuring patient-facing materials branded with the message "Changes to Medicaid Are Coming."
The toolkit includes a series of posters and informational cards. You may order printed materials through the CHA Store or have your design team download and co-brand the PDF files with your system's logo. Also available are talking points for frontline staff and social media graphics to help raise awareness. Resources are available in English and Spanish.
Catholic healthcare is rooted in a mission to care for all people, especially those who experience poverty, vulnerability and marginalization. Watch this message from Sr. Mary Haddad, RSM, CHA's president and CEO, on why Medicaid matters to the people and communities we serve and how our ministry is responding to upcoming coverage changes. Then explore the toolkit for resources to raise awareness and support those who may be affected.

Talking Points for Frontline Employees
Receptionists, registration staff, billing teams, caseworkers and other frontline employees play a critical role in helping patients understand upcoming Medicaid changes. These talking points provide clear, consistent messages staff can use to educate patients, encourage them to update their information and take steps to maintain their coverage.
