How do you define mission integration at your organization?
Mission integration within Alexian Brothers Health System is the process of equipping everyone who works with and supports the ideals of the Alexian Brothers with information, tools and training that enable them to make decisions aligned with the mission, vision and values of the Brothers and of the Catholic Church. The Brothers mission, rooted in Catholicism, calls us to witness the Healing Christ in today's world; giving testimony by word and deed in a way that honors and promotes the values of compassion, dignity of the person, care of the poor, holism and partnership. The integration of this mission is accomplished (a) through education and formation of all who partner with the Brothers (staff, volunteers, physicians, donors, …) to the eight-hundred-year legacy of the Brothers and their mission, values and charism; (b) through initiatives promoted by Alexian Spirit Committees — mission integration teams whose members have themselves demonstrated the Alexian Brothers charism; and (c) by formation of governance and leadership in our Catholic and Alexian identity and our health care ministry of the Catholic Church.
