Organizations within CommonSpirit Health have made these changes:
- Mario Garner to president of Dignity Health East Valley, which includes Dignity Health Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers, and Arizona General Hospital — Mesa, all in Arizona. Garner was president of St. Luke's Health — The Vintage Hospital, in Houston.
- Jarrett B. Millsaps Jr. to president of Saint Joseph East in Lexington and Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, both in Kentucky. The facilities are part of Saint Joseph Health of Lexington. Millsaps was a consultant with Bancroft Trust Health Partners in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Organizations within Trinity Health have made these changes:
- Sarah Hunter to president of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital of Melrose Park, Illinois. She was chief operating officer at Northwest Health in Valparaiso, Indiana.
- Robert Ritz is retiring as president and CEO of MercyOne of Des Moines, Iowa, effective Jan. 2. Trinity Health will begin recruiting for his successor in the coming months.
Organizations within CommonSpirit Health have made these administrative changes: Michael P. Browning to system senior executive vice president and chief financial officer of CommonSpirit Health, effective Jan. 2. Tadren Kennedy to chief operating officer of Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, California.
Subsidiaries of Trinity Health of Livonia, Michigan, have made these administrative changes: Michelle Peña to regional chief nursing officer of Trinity Health Michigan; Tommy Starr to chief nursing officer for Saint Joseph Health System of Mishawaka, Indiana; and Alicia Wolfe to mission leader at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, California.
Dr. Matthew Fox to chief medical officer of Mercy Medical Center of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, effective in December.
OBITUARY
Dr. Patricia Maryland, who spent about 20 years as an executive with Ascension or its predecessors, died Oct. 24. In her last position with the St. Louis-based system, Maryland served as executive vice president of Ascension and president and CEO of Ascension Healthcare from July 2017 to July 2019. She served on the CHA Board of Trustees for two years, leaving in June 2019.
