At the same time that Pope Francis changed the Diocese of Las Vegas into the Archdiocese of Las Vegas, he elevated Bishop George Leo Thomas to archbishop.
The elevation of both Archbishop Thomas and the diocese were celebrated at a Mass Oct. 16.
Archbishop Thomas was a member of CHA's board of trustees from 2013 to 2022.
