GIFTS AND GRANTS
CHRISTUS Health of Irving, Texas, and its partner, the Permian Basin Workforce Board, have received a $2.4 million grant from the Texas Workforce Initiative to expand access to high-quality clinical simulation training for CHRISTUS clinicians across Texas. The effort, called the Rural Health Initiative, supports hands-on, simulation-based training of clinicians, especially those in rural communities. Nearly 500 CHRISTUS associates across several facilities will benefit.
Patient and donor Didier Moritz has made a second $500,000 donation to Holy Cross Health Foundation of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the form of a charitable gift annuity, which is a planned giving option that provides donors with guaranteed lifetime income while supporting causes they care about. After the donor's passing, the remaining funds from the annuity will directly benefit Holy Cross Health Foundation's mission. Moritz had given his first $500,000 charitable gift annuity in 2024. The funds will go toward capital improvements on the campus. He says he is giving to Holy Cross Health because of the exceptional care and services he has received at the hospital. Moritz built a career in real estate and hospitality.
