WASHINGTON, DC — Today, the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA) President and CEO Sr. Mary Haddad, RSM, issued the following statement on commercial health insurers' pledge to improve the prior authorization process.
"Prior authorization practices too often create needless delays that could put patients at risk and pose obstacles, forcing patients to navigate a frustrating and complex system just to access the care they need. Access to care is a matter of human dignity, and it's time to put patients first by streamlining the process and building a system that is timely, transparent, and truly patient-centered."
