Last year, Pope Francis called for a new dialogue on the future of our
planet. The Encyclical Letter, Laudato Si', Care for our Common Home,
has particular significance for nurses because of nursing’s holistic view of
health and awareness of how persons and populations suffer the effects of a
damaged environment.
This webinar will review the Encyclical and describe how it speaks to nurses’
moral obligation as world citizens and as health professionals. It will review
the health impacts of climate change and other environmental threats and suggest
nursing actions to mitigate and adapt environmental impacts in our professional
and personal lives.
