Community Benefit Position Descriptions
A wide range of skills sets, found across several departments, are needed to plan, develop, implement, evaluate, and report community benefit programs. However, most organizations find that they need a part- or full-time staff member dedicated to implementing community benefit programs, which includes coordinating the efforts of departments within the organization and the efforts of community members and outreach partners. While organizations vary in their approach to staffing the community benefit program, those individuals who are assigned to carry out the organization's community benefit mission should have certain core competencies. The Advancing the State of the Art in Community Benefit Demonstration, summarizes these competencies in Appendix C of its users guide — Advancing the State of the Art in Community Benefit: A User's Guide to Excellence and Accountability.
