  • Australians tour U.S. on hunt for innovative designs, services for the aged

Two top executives from one of Australia's largest Catholic health systems hopscotched across the U.S. and dipped into Canada late last year to see what's new or in the pipeline in senior-friendly design and assistive technology for the aged.

    CHA members earn Magnet status

Eleven CHA members are among the facilities that received Magnet recognition in 2009 from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

CHA reports its FY2009 financial results

CHA has reported its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, and has posted related financial statements online.

Continuum of care facility encourages lifelong learning

Joe Moriarty has four degrees from the University of Notre Dame. His wife, Pat, graduated from Saint Mary's College, just down the street. For these college sweethearts, retiring to Holy Cross Village at Notre Dame was a no-brainer.

St. John's supports parents grieving stillbirths, fetal deaths

When a pregnancy ends in death instead of life, in grief instead of joy, it is very difficult for parents, their loved ones and clinicians alike to know how to process this experience.

St. Joseph team cultivates community leaders, helps them bring about change

A team of community organizers at St. Joseph Health System of Sonoma County, Calif., is helping disenfranchised people to gain the influence necessary to achieve real and lasting change in their neighborhoods and communities.

Wheaton's 'Fresh Start' helps turn 'monster' students into 'angels'

When educators in the Racine, Wis., Unified School District have exhausted nearly all recourses in trying to reform a misbehaving student, they often turn to an unlikely partner for help — the local hospital.

Workshops help people to thrive despite their chronic diseases

Chronic disease can be a significant hardship for people, especially if they don't know how to manage their conditions.
