Lisa J. Gilden, JD, is vice president and general counsel of the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA). She is based at the association's Washington, DC, office. Prior to joining CHA in September 2000, Ms. Gilden was a partner in the law firm of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal. Gilden received her juris doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law, Eugene Ore., and a bachelor's degree in international affairs and Asian studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colo. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Washington State Bar, and the American Health Lawyers Association. She co-authored the CHA publication Linking Hospitals and Physicians: A Values-Based Guide to Legal Structures.
