This webinar shared the findings of a
2012 research study on hospital and health system practices in medical surplus
donation. It provided information useful for executives who oversee the donation
of materials and the hospitals strategic initiatives, as well as those who
collect and sort medical and equipment surplus. Presenters explained the research
results and introduced the 22 leading practices—including eight critical,
high-impact leading practices every hospital and health system should adopt when
starting or enhancing a medical surplus recovery program—and shared insight into
the practices’ practical application and adoption by health care
organizations. These results and practices are included in CHA’s international outreach
resource offering, Responsible Redistribution of Medical
Supplies and Equipment: Leading Practices for Hospitals and Health
Systems.
