Hospital community benefit programs can address health priorities while also
impacting the environment, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions that
mitigate the health risks of a changing climate.
This webinar described new tools and strategies for identifying and
responding to environmental and climate exposures within community benefit
programs. It featured a leading Catholic health system, Providence St.
Joseph, which is piloting a new community health needs assessment process that
integrates climate and environmental assessment practices, creating strategies
to identify health practices with climate co-benefits, and cross training
caregivers throughout its system.
