Description
In our ongoing commitment to provide timely, relevant information about emerging issues for Catholic health care, the Catholic Health Association offered a monthly series of webinars to address and clarify critical ethical issues in caring for patients and families in Catholic hospitals, long-term care facilities and medical centers nationwide.
Each 45-minute session examines the implications of a specific critical issue in clinical and organizational ethics in the context of Catholic Social Teaching and the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs).
This session Co-sponsored by the Catholic Health Association in cooperation with Boston College.
This session explores the definitions and implications of abortion as outlined in the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) and contrast them with the principles of Catholic moral theology. Designed for health care professionals, ethicists, and anyone interested in the intersection of law and religion, this webinar offers a deeper understanding of how legal mandates and religious doctrines influence perspectives and practices surrounding abortion.
