Description

Right now, in the middle of a global pandemic we have seen and endured the impact of several recent natural disasters and humanitarian crisis. The recent examples of an earthquake and tropical storm in Haiti, Hurricane Ida and wildfires affecting several states throughout the US, and manmade disasters such as the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan will have lasting impacts on our communities and our health care organizations. From the impact of the pandemic to added floods, hurricanes, wildfires and other disasters, we need to stay as prepared as possible, which includes listening and learning from one another.

CHA, to facilitate information sharing from more recent events nationally and globally, is hosting a conversation to hear from officials, ministry leaders working in disaster response, and others to glean successful practices, preparation tips and insights from who coordinating responses so that as a ministry we can collectively learn from the “how” as well as highlight the “why” of response as a mission imperative.

This Zoom gathering is open to CHA members and partners in disaster response.

Who Should Attend

This meeting is a gathering for those who coordinate responses for disasters as well as key influencers and decision makers, including operational and mission leaders, at the facility/regional/system levels. A meeting with international and domestic response information to share, we also need persons who coordinated international responses.
