Right now, in
the middle of a global pandemic we have seen and endured the impact of several
recent natural disasters and humanitarian crisis. The recent examples of an
earthquake and tropical storm in Haiti, Hurricane Ida and wildfires affecting
several states throughout the US, and manmade disasters such as the humanitarian
crisis in Afghanistan will have lasting impacts on our communities and our
health care organizations. From the impact of the pandemic to added floods,
hurricanes, wildfires and other disasters, we need to stay as prepared as
possible, which includes listening and learning from one another.

is hosting a conversation to hear from officials, ministry leaders working in
disaster response, and others to glean successful practices, preparation tips
and insights from who coordinating responses so that as a ministry we can
collectively learn from the “how” as well as highlight the “why” of response as
a mission imperative.
