ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES

Karen Springer to executive vice president, health care operations for St. Louis-based Ascension.

Arlington Heights, Ill.-based AMITA Health is a joint operating company formed by Alexian Brothers Health System, a subsidiary of St. Louis-based Ascension, and Adventist Midwest Health. As part of a new regional operating model of AMITA Health, the system has made these changes:

  • Herbert Buchanan to senior vice president and regional operating officer for the south region, including AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Bolingbrook, AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Hinsdale, AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center La Grange, AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet and AMITA Health St. Mary's Hospital Kankakee.
  • Polly Davenport to senior vice president and regional operating officer for the northwest region. That region includes AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center GlenOaks, AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center Elk Grove Village, AMITA Health Mercy Medical Center Aurora, AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center Hoffman Estates and its AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Women & Children's Hospital, and AMITA Health Saint Joseph Hospital Elgin.
  • Michelle Hereford to senior vice president and post-acute care officer. She will oversee AMITA Health Holy Family Medical Center Des Plaines, which is a long-term acute-care hospital; AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Rehabilitation Hospital Elk Grove Village; AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Hospice Care; AMITA Health Adventist St. Thomas Hospice Care; AMITA Health Rainbow Hospice; AMITA Health home health programs and other rehabilitation and palliative care programs. Hereford also will oversee laboratory services.
  • Scott Teffeteller to senior vice president and regional operating officer for AMITA's Chicago metro region. This region includes AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center Chicago, AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital Evanston, AMITA Health Saint Joseph Hospital Chicago and AMITA Health Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center Chicago.
