PRESIDENTS/CEOS

St. Louis-based Ascension and organizations within that system have made these changes:

• Karen Springer to president of healthcare operations for Ascension, from senior vice president, Ascension Healthcare, and ministry market executive for Ascension Tennessee. Tim Adams will replace her as senior vice president, Ascension Healthcare, and ministry market executive for Ascension Tennessee. Adams was chief executive of the Texas region of Tenet Healthcare.
• Chris Palazzolo to president and chief executive of Ascension Crittenton of Rochester, Mich. He continues as president and chief executive of Genesys Health System of Grand Blanc, Mich. He had headed St. Joseph Health System of Tawas City, Mich., and Ascension St. Mary's of Michigan of Saginaw, Mich., but discontinues those roles. Betsy Aderholdt, who had led those organizations prior to her 2016 retirement, will serve as interim leader of those organizations until a permanent top executive for those sites is in place.

Organizations within Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health have made these changes:

• Dr. Louis A. Damiano to president of Holy Cross Hospital of Silver Spring, Md., from acting president. David Ricci to interim president of St. Francis Medical Center of Trenton, N.J., from interim president and chief executive of Saint Francis Healthcare, Wilmington, Del.
• Chad Wable to senior vice president and chief operating officer for Trinity Health of New England, from president and chief executive of Saint Mary's Hospital of Waterbury, Conn. Dr. Steve Schneider to president of Saint Mary's, from chief medical officer of Saint Mary's and president of Franklin Medical Group, which is Saint Mary's physician group.

Dr. Charles Hankins to president and chief medical officer of the Children's Hospital of San Antonio, effective Jan. 8. Hankins also will be a senior vice president of 
CHRISTUS Health of Irving, Texas.

Walter Ludwig to president and chief executive of Kenmore Mercy Hospital of Kenmore, N.Y., from chief operating officer. He replaces James Millard, who is retiring.

Derek Vance to president of CHI Health St. Elizabeth and CHI Health Nebraska Heart of Lincoln, Neb., from chief executive at LewisGale Hospital in Pulaski, Va.

Patrick McCruden to chief mission integration officer for SSM Health of St. Louis.

Kurt Weinmeister to chief operating 
officer of Dignity Health–St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, Calif.

The Catholic Health Association has made these changes: Nathaniel (Nate) Hibner to director of ethics and Caroline (Carrie) Meyer McGrath to director of mission.

Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Ky., 140 years.
