After Chef Raffaele Ronca of Ristorante Rafele in New York City whipped up a blood sausage appetizer, homemade gnocchi and a smoked maple syrup panna cotta to wow the judges on "Chopped," a Food Network show, he won over hearts at the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center in Yonkers, N.Y.
Ronca donated his $10,000 cooking competition prize from the show to the St. Elizabeth Seton Children's Foundation. That organization supports the pediatric center, which cares for children with complex medical, educational and rehabilitative needs.
On his Facebook page, the chef wrote of his post-win visit to children at the center: "What an amazing day. I am filled with joy! It is truly humbling to witness firsthand the impact this gift makes on the lives of these deserving children."
