Sr. Mary Jean Ryan, FSM, left the position of chief executive of St. Louis-based SSM Health Care Aug. 1. She continues as chair of the SSM board and the system's regional and divisional boards. William Thompson succeeds her as chief executive and continues as SSM president. Chris Howard to president and chief executive designate, SSM Health Care–St. Louis, from regional president and system vice president, SSM Health Care of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City. Howard will replace Jim Sanger, who will retire at the end of December.
Jeff Brickman to president of Centura Health System's Mountains North Denver Operating Group and president and chief executive of that group's St. Anthony Hospital, Lakewood, Colo., from president and chief executive of Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, Ill.
Beth Hughes succeeds Brickman as president and chief executive, Provena Saint Joseph, where she had been executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Jeffrey A. Johnston to president, St. John's Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis, from president, St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, Fort Smith, Ark.

Fernando A. Fleites to senior vice president, human resources, Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, Greenville, S.C.
Via Christi Health, Wichita, Kan., has made the following changes:Stephen Nesbit to chief medical officer, Via Christi Hospitals, Wichita, and Kevin Olson to vice president of information services and chief information officer for the system.
Lynda Gruenewald-Schmitz to vice president of clinical innovation, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, Milwaukee.
Borgess Health, Kalamazoo, Mich., has made the following changes: Dr. Robert Hill to vice president of medical affairs and Dr. Stacey Watson to vice president of clinical care integration.
Tammy Merkel to vice president of performance excellence and clinical integration, Genesys Health System, Grand Blanc, Mich.
Paul Bookout to administrative director for system relations and government and public affairs, St. Bernards Healthcare, Jonesboro, Ark.
