Prayer Library - CHA

Prayer, in the traditional Catholic definition, is a lifting of the mind and heart to God. With the hectic pace of life for many people today, prayer — however defined by any tradition of faith — has taken on more importance. If you have prayers, readings, poetry or other materials for spiritual reflection that you wish to share with your colleagues in ministry across the country, please send them to

2017 CHA Advent Podcast Reflections

Sunday, Dec. 3, marks the beginning of the liturgical year and the season of Advent. To help Catholic health care organizations celebrate this important time, CHA has produced a reflection for each week of Advent as well as a Christmas reflection. We hope they are sources of comfort, joy and inspiration to be shared with others in your ministry.

How can they be shared? Here are ways others have shared these resources with their communities:

  • Distributing through your social media channels.
  • Including the videos as part of the looping videos that show on monitors in public spaces
  • Posting to the intranet/staff portal.
  • Sharing via weekly emails.
  • Including on the intranet and as publicly-available resources.
  • Using in hardcopy and/or as an audio reflection at meetings.
  • Posting in hardcopy in break areas and other spots for availability to staff and volunteers.

2017 World Day of the Poor

WDP_LOGO_ENG-300x472Pope Francis has announced the World Day for the Poor as an annual observance on the Thirty-Third Sunday of Ordinary Time, a week before the Solemnity of Christ the King. In 2017, this is Nov. 19.

To help you reflect on our call to care for those who are poor and vulnerable, CHA has developed several resources. We share them with you and hope that you will share them in your ministries and communities.
