We Are Called Webinar Series - Session 2: What Roles Can Boards Play in Advancing Health Equity

Presented on February 16, 2022
The benefits of having a diverse board are clear — broader perspectives lead to deeper discussions, more comprehensive thinking and fewer missteps in implementing new programs and services for our communities, especially the underserved and vulnerable populations. And yet, a recent study shows that on average, health care boards are comprised of 87% white members and only 13% people of color.

Join a conversation with ministry colleagues and leaders of the Black Directors Health Equity Agenda (BDHEA) on how board members can bring a health equity lens into their governance roles and more directly influence discussions regarding health equity. Panelists will discuss the BDHEA's playbook, "Prioritizing Health Equity in the Boardroom," and share from their own experiences as health system board members and executive leaders. This CHA webinar is part of the We Are Called: Confronting Racism by Achieving Health Equity initiative.
