This webinar shares the findings of a 2012 research study on hospital and health system practices in medical surplus donation. It provides information useful for executives who oversee the donation of materials and the hospitals strategic initiatives, as well as those who collect and sort medical and equipment surplus. Presenters explain the research results and introduce the 22 leading practices—including eight critical, high-impact leading practices every hospital and health system should adopt when starting or enhancing a medical surplus recovery program—and share insight into the practices’ practical application and adoption by health care organizations. These results and practices are included in CHA’s international outreach resource offering, Responsible Redistribution of Medical Supplies and Equipment: Leading Practices for Hospitals and Health Systems.
